Laboratory for ASTR:1070.

This course is the laboratory portion of ASTR:1070 to be taken as a stand-alone course. Students must have already taken ASTR:1070 or equivalent to have permission to enroll. Students may not take this course if they have already received 4 s.h. of credit in ASTR:1070. Seats are limited and meant for students who would aim to fulfill their 4 s.h. Natural Sciences GE requirement by taking a combination of ASTR 1070 (3 s.h.) plus this course in a subsequent semester.

This course is intended for students who have taken two 3 s.h. lecture courses (no lab) that are equivalent in level to Principles of Chemistry I and II courses, CHEM:1110 and CHEM:1120. CHEM:1160 enables the student to earn 2 s.h. for case study/ laboratory to complete the laboratory components of the 4 s.h. lecture/lab sequence offered at the University of Iowa. The student will be assigned to the laboratory portions of CHEM:1110 and CHEM:1120 courses to complete the case studies, experiments and assessments that accompany them. Because CHEM:1160 is defined as the laboratory component of the CHEM:1110 and CHEM:1120, students should also read the course description of the CHEM:1110 and CHEM:1120.

Laboratory for PHYS:1400.

This is a stand-alone lab course to accompany PHYS:1400 Basic Physics. The combination of PHYS:1409 and the 3 sh version of PHYS:1400 is equivalent to the 4 sh version of PHYS:1400.  Labs do not meet the first week of the semester
