This course includes mandatory participation in a student advocacy seminar and related activities in Washington D.C. April 14 - 18.  The experience is designed to gain hands-on practice creating and implementing an advocacy plan for a group or individual experiencing human rights violations.  Course fees are pooled to cover transportation to Washington D.C., public ground transportation, accommodations, and a shared dinner.  Additional meals will be covered based on available funding from the course fee pool.  A UICHR administrator will review the remaining available budget with students after hotel rooms and flights have been booked.
