Submissions are accepted through this webform (https://workflow.uiowa.edu/form/cw-honors-portfolio-form)
1) Submissions are accepted for THIS TIME PERIOD: September 28th - October 18th (MIDNIGHT). Submissions received outside that period may not be considered.
2) We are offering three Honors courses in Creative Writing in fall 2026. You may only submit to ONE course. Under Submission Type, please select one of the following: FICTION (Tom Lin), FICTION (Bennett Sims), POETRY (Paige Lewis) or CREATIVE NONFICTION (Inara Verzemnieks).
3) Upload, as a single file, up to 15 pages of FICTION for the fiction seminar, up to 15 pages of POETRY for the poetry seminar, and up to 15 pages of CREATIVE NONFICTION for the creative nonfiction seminar. Your submission may be one piece, multiple short pieces, or part of a larger project, as long as the document does not exceed 15 pages in length (double-spaced for prose). Please use standard manuscript format for prose (double-spaced, 12-point type, and margins of at least one inch). Submissions above 15 pages may be disqualified.
4) Again, you may only submit to one of the three courses. Multiple submissions may be disqualified. You will receive an email regarding application status from the English Department between November 2nd - November 9th.
