How Do My Courses Transfer?

If you took, or plan to take, course work at another college or university, use this equivalency guide to determine how those courses transfer to The University of Iowa.

Not all courses may be included. Evaluations for transfer courses not on this list will be completed at the time of admission to Iowa.

Please note the following with respect to the unofficial transfer credit evaluation pages:

Diversity and Inclusion is a signature course that must be taken at the University of Iowa.

Students who are studying abroad should contact the Study Abroad office to determine General Education Core requirements.

Physical Education courses (such as Badminton, Tennis, and Weight Training) are not counted toward the requirements of the General Education: CLAS Core, although they may still display in the search results. These courses will continue to count as electives and toward the total semester hours needed for graduation from The University of Iowa.

Only course equivalencies, general education or elective credit designations will be displayed. Combinations of courses used to satisfy requirements or partial equivalencies are not being displayed at this time.

Please contact us at adm-ugevaluation@uiowa.edu if you have questions about course combinations or partial equivalencies. Thank you.
